Production of aluminum ingot in Iran surpasses 112K tons in 2 months


(MENAFN) Iran's production of aluminum ingots reached 112,273 tons during the initial two months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20 to May 20), according to recent data released by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO). Among the country's leading producers, South Aluminum Corporation (SALCO) demonstrated the strongest performance, producing 47,002 tons of aluminum ingots. Following SALCO, Iranian Aluminum Company (IRALCO) produced 31,122 tons, Almahdi Aluminum Company contributed 27,920 tons, and Iran Alumina Company contributed 6,229 tons of ingots.

During the same period, Iran Alumina Company reported production figures of 38,061 metric tons (mt) of alumina powder, 64,558 mt of aluminum hydrate, and 139,069 mt of bauxite. Looking back at the previous Iranian calendar year, Iran's total production of aluminum ingots exceeded 635,000 mt, marking a slight one percent year-on-year increase despite challenges related to energy constraints.

IMIDRO also noted that Iran's overall aluminum production stood at approximately 632,000 mt in the preceding year. Iran Alumina Company played a significant role during this period, producing 222,138 mt of alumina powder, 374,106 mt of alumina hydrate, and 598,599 mt of bauxite. These production figures underscore Iran's ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance its aluminum manufacturing capabilities amidst various operational and economic conditions.
