Thailand's Lower House Passed Budget Bill At First Reading
After a three-day debate, the 500-member lower house of the Thai Parliament passed the 2025 budget for the fiscal year starting Oct 1, with 311 votes in favour, 175 against, and two abstentions.
The budget aims to unlock Thailand's full economic potential and generate income for the people and the nation, which aligns with government policies declared to the parliament, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, Phumtham Wechayachai told the legislature.
The bill is required to pass another two rounds of reading in the lower house, before being submitted for senate and royal approval.– NNN-TNA
