(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, June 21 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday declared that the State of Kuwait acclaims Armenia's official recognition of the State of Palestine.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that it considers the recognition as a positive step that would contribute to achieving what has been stipulated in the relevant Security Council resolutions and the Arab peace initiative as to empowering the Palestinian people to determine their destiny and establish the independent state with the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
It has affirmed the State of Kuwait's stand that calls upon all states to take similar decisions to find a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause.
Up to 149 states out of 193 that are members of the UN General Assembly have recognized the State of Palestine. (end) mmj
