Fire At Iranian Hospital: Qaem Rasht Temporarily Closed


(MENAFN- Khaama Press) One day after a fire incident resulted in the loss of nine lives at a hospital in Iran; authorities announced the temporary closure of the facility.

Mohammad Taghi Ashoubi, head of Gilan University of Medical Sciences, recently stated that following a fire at the Qaem hospital in Rasht early Tuesday morning, which claimed nine lives, patients from the hospital have been transferred to other medical centers.

He added that after assessing the damage and completing repairs, permission will be granted for Qaem Hospital to resume operations.

Mr. Ashoubi also noted that the hospital will remain temporarily closed for now.

This comes after a fire broke out early yesterday at Qaem Hospital in Rasht, resulting in the deaths of nine individuals. Authorities at the hospital reported that most of the fatalities were patients in the emergency care unit.

It is reported that there were 145 patients in the hospital at the time of the fire, with nine of them losing their lives.
