OSJD Officially Adopts Ashgabat Declaration


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 20. The AshgabatDeclaration was adopted at the 38th Conference of heads andresponsible representatives of railway transport enterprises of theOrganization for Co-operation between Railways (OSJD) membercountries, held in the capital of Turkmenistan, Trend reports.

According to the official source, the Declaration, which is anannex to the Protocol of the meeting, underlines the importance offurther implementation of the provisions of the UN General Assemblyresolutions on transport initiated by Turkmenistan.

These resolutions include the resolution 'the role of transportand transit corridors in ensuring international cooperation forsustainable development' dated December 19, 2014; the resolution'towards comprehensive cooperation among all modes of transport forpromoting sustainable multimodal transit corridors' dated December22, 2015; the resolution 'strengthening links between all modes oftransport to achieve Sustainable Development Goals' dated December20, 2017; and the resolution 'strengthening links between all modesof transport to achieve Sustainable Development Goals' datedDecember 19, 2023.

Meanwhile, the 38th meeting of the Conference of Heads andResponsible Representatives of Railway Transport Enterprises of themember countries of the Organization for Railway Cooperation (OSJD)was held in Ashgabat.

The event was attended by heads and senior representatives ofrailway departments from 20 OSJD member countries, as well asobservers from four countries: Finland, France, Germany, andGreece.
