Earthquake Hits Türkiye, Several Buildings Damaged


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. A number ofbuildings suffered serious damage as a result of a magnitude 5.6earthquake that occurred in the Turkish province of Tokat, TurkishHealth Minister Fahrettin Koca said, Trend reports.

According to information, one house and the minarets of twomosques were destroyed in various places in Tokat. Under theinfluence of tremors, three houses collapsed in several blocks ofthe city of Yozgat. One person was injured during the naturaldisaster in Tokat

Rescuers and emergency medical teams are working at thescene.

19:56 (GMT+4) An earthquake with a magnitude of5.6 has occurred in Türkiye in the district of Sulusaray in Tokatprovince, the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority ofTürkiye (AFAD) said, Trend reports.

According to information, the earthquake originated at a depthof 5.99 kilometers.

The earthquake was felt in neighboring provinces.
