Asian Para Games 2023: Sakshi Kasana Clinches Bronze In Women's F54/F55 Discus Throw Event

Kasana clinched a bronze medal in the Women's discus throw event at the ongoing Asian Para Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China, on Wednesday. At the F54/F55 event, Sakshi finished third with a personal best throw of 22.06 metres.

India had another exceptional day yesterday, clinching a total of 17 medals, including three gold, which brought their overall tally to an impressive 34 medals in just the first two days of competition. This achievement follows their remarkable performance on Monday when they secured 17 medals, including a remarkable six gold medals.

As Day 2 came to a close, India found itself in the fifth position in the overall standings, a slight dip from Monday's fourth-place standing. The Indian contingent as on Tuesday collected an impressive haul of nine gold medals, along with 12 silver and 13 bronze medals.

In the rankings, they trailed behind the likes of China, leading with a staggering 165 medals (66 gold, 53 silver, 46 bronze), followed by Iran, Japan, and Uzbekistan. These early successes underline India's growing prowess in the sporting arena at the Hangzhou Asian Para Games.
