Turkish official says no substitute to Black Sea Grain Initiative

(MENAFN) Turkish Leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan's head consultant Akif Cagatay Kilic declared on Monday that there is no substitute to the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

Kilic stated, emphasizing the significance of the restoration of the Black Sea grain agreement: "That's our priority. Therefore, we are not considering any other alternative or other way at the moment. We doubt that this deal could survive without Russia."

Kilic informed a Turkish news channel that Turkey endures its hard works to continue the grain passageway once more.

On July 17, Russia postponed its contribution in the Black Sea grain agreement, negotiated by Turkey as well as the United Nations to continue grain shipments from three Ukrainian Black Sea ports that were stopped following the Ukraine conflict that started last year in February.

Moscow has consistently objected that the West has failed to meet its responsibilities in relation to Russia's own grain exports. It claims that payment, logistics, as well as insurance restrictions have hampered its shipments.
