Doha, Qatar: Al Rayyan Club yesterday announced the signing of Brazilian footballer Roger Guedes from Sport Club Corinthians Paulista before revealing a second recruitment of the day - Portugal U-21 player Andre Amaro ahead of the kick off of the new Qatar Stars League season.
Roger Guedes, the 26-year-old striker who has scored 21 goals this season at Corinthians, where he left behgind a strong mark, having played 126 games with the club.
Guedes has scored a total of 43 goals, including 31 at the Neo Química Arena, the home of the Corinthians in Sao Paulo, becoming the highest scorer at the stadium.
Guedes, who plays as a forward, is the third Brazilian to join the team.
He will support the front line, accompanied by Moroccan Sofiane Boufal, Spaniard Rodrigo Moreno and Brazilian Gabriel Pereira.

Guedes started his career with Criciuma, then moved to Palmeiras and later joined Atletico Mineiro. He was loaned to Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng Taishan in 2018.
Guedes signed for Corinthian in 2021 and played for two seasons before joining Qatar's Lions.
Meanwhile, the 20-year-old Amaro left Vitoria Guimares to join Al Rayyan and is expected to strengthen the team's defence.
This deal is the fourth for Al Rayyan this season after they signed contracts with Spaniard Rodrigo Moreno from Leeds United, Brazilians Gabriel Pereira from New York City Club and Thiago Mendes from Lyon, while the team retained Moroccan Sofiane Boufal and Japanese Shogo Taniguchi.
On Tuesday, Al Rayyan concluded a training camp in Austria that began on July 17 in preparation for the new season.
During the camp, the team played six friendly matches against Hungary's Honved, Saudi's Al Fayha, Austria's Korneuburg, UAE's Al Wasl and the first and second teams of Italy's Udinese.
Al Rayyan will kick off their Qatar Stars League journey against Al Markhiya on Aug. 17 at Al Janoub Stadium.
