2 School Students Die After Drowning In Kokcha River

(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): Two residents of Faizabad city, the capital of northeastern Badaskhshan province, have died after drowning in Kokcha river while swimming, Police said on Friday.

Badakhshan police spokesman Ihsanullah Kamgar told Pajhwok three school students drowned in the river in the fifth security district of Faizabad city yesterday evening.

He said local people and security personnel rescued one person, but the two others died.

One body has been found and efforts are underway to find the body of the second person, he said.

Last week, three people drowned and died in a river while swimming in Laghman province.
