Rada Proposes To Establish Cultural, Information Centres Of Enslaved Nations Of Russia In Ukraine

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, MP from the Servant of the People party, Nikita Poturaev, has proposed to create cultural and information centres for enslaved peoples living in Russia in Ukraine.

He said this on the air of the New Countdown talk show on suspilne TV, Ukrinform reports.

"This work with national minorities seems very prospective to me. We know that in the so-called federation, all cultural rights and freedoms of the enslaved peoples are completely suppressed. The native language, the languages of these nationalities, have already been removed from school courses, not to mention higher education courses," the MP said.

Therefore, according to him, Ukraine should consider creating cultural and information centers for the peoples of Russia on its territory.

"The same Khanty, the same Mansi, the same Volga Tatars, there are many nationalities there. A lot of people from the so-called Russian Federation have left. We can offer Kyiv as a place where these cultural and information centers will be located," Poturaev said.

At the same time, he expressed the opinion that such information centers should be engaged exclusively in cultural and educational work.

"Cultural and information centers may remind some people of informal unrecognised embassies of unrecognised Taiwan - well, it's up to those who see some parallels in this. I don't see any parallels, only culture, only information. Why not support the people who are enslaved, who are deprived of their cultural rights on the territory of this so-called federation? Let them have representative offices here," the MP suggested.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Independent Tatarstan Aida Abdrakhmanova said in an interview with Ukrinform that Ukraine's victory lies in the decolonisation, de-imperialisation and denuclearisation of Russia.

Abdrakhmanova believes that Russia should disintegrate, it should not exist in its current form. As long as such a neighbor exists - an aggressive, totalitarian, absolutely terrorist regime - no state will have a sense of calm, peace, or the ability to build a perspective for the future
