Chennai Airport's New Terminal Inaugurated With US-Bangla's Flight


(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka : The Airports Authority of India (AAI) launched operations of its new terminal at Chennai Airport by handling a flight of US-Bangla airlines on April 25 as part of a trial run.





AAI operated the international flight through the new terminal as part of the trial before shifting full operations.

The inbound flight arrived at 1:06 pm with 191 passengers on board while the outbound flight departed at 2:16 pm with 192 passengers, a release said.

Representatives of US-Bangla Airlines expressed that they are honoured that AAI chose the airline, added the US-Bangla media release.

"This will be a trial to find out if all the systems are working properly as everything is new. It will also help us to find out if passengers are facing any inconvenience," Sharad Kumar, Director, Chennai Airport, said, reports cited.

It may be mentioned here that US-Bangla Airlines has been operating weekly flights from Dhaka to Chennai since 2018, as per reports, with Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

Also, the airline operates daily flights to Kolkata from Dhaka and Chattogram.
