The Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation has released its annual report for 2022, which included a comprehensive presentation of its charitable projects at the local and international levels.
The report this year bears the slogan“Empowerment, Building, Development”, which reflects the Foundation's approach to formulating and implementing its humanitarian projects and initiatives, particularly in the fields of health, education and housing.
The projects were implemented with the support and guidance of H E sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, the founding member to emphasise, through these projects, the concept of sustainability as a fundamental pillar on which to build its strategy in the medium and long-term.
The annual report also revealed the total cost of the projects, which amounted to QR61,707,923. More than 368,300 people in many needy communities around the world benefited from its charitable endeavours.
The report sheds light on the most important achievements of the Foundation during 2022 in terms of projects abroad, foremost of which is the opening of Sharifa Hospital in the Kingdom of Morocco, support for the marriage of more than 250 young men in the Gaza Strip.
The report also includes the celebration of the Hamad Bin Jassim Center for Integrated Rehabilitation Care in Gaza with the graduation of the first batch of a number of children with disabilities and their enrolment at the Saja School affiliated with the Centre, more students enrolled in the Hamad Bin Jassim Industrial Training Center in the state of Maharashtra in India.
In addition, other important projects and initiatives were launched and implemented by the Foundation and the important developmental achievements made. The total cost of projects which were implemented abroad amounted to QR42,238,592.
At the local level, the monthly and continuous aid throughout the year comes in the first place due to the great interest that Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation attaches to projects and initiatives inside Qatar, which occupy a large space on the map of the charitable foundation's directions.
In addition, it is building partnerships and supporting various local civil organisations as well as supporting the health and education sectors.
This is based on its assumption of its social responsibilities that enhance its vision of“health and education for a better life” and following Qatar National Vision 2030, which clarifies the human and societal value of the humanitarian initiatives and projects implemented by the Foundation.
The projects are sustainable due to the fact that it is self-financed, and enshrines in its orientations the principle of social solidarity, by ensuring the continuation of providing such social assistance to needy and needy families sharing their financial burdens. The local projects and initiatives were implemented at a cost of QR19,469,394.
Innovative vision:
The report included a speech by Chairman of the Board of Directors Sheikh Jabor bin Yousef bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, in which he affirmed that Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation has been able, since its inception, to enhance its civilised identity and its position on the map of charitable and humanitarian work.
He said this is done by adopting an innovative vision of“Health and Education for a Better Life”, which in turn constituted the main pillar in formulating an integrated strategy that relies on dedicating the concept of development, and considering it the main factor that constitutes the essence of the projects and initiatives implemented by the Foundation throughout its over two decades long journey.
Sheikh Jabor said that Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation realised that charitable work in all its forms requires the provision of sustainable, not temporary solutions, as a practical way for the effectiveness of charitable work and the achievement of its desired goals.
During the speech, he added that the Foundation is striving to enrich its charitable portfolio by implementing many charitable and humanitarian projects and initiatives and diversifying them so that their benefits reach the largest segment of needy communities, through building hospitals, health centres, schools and implementing housing projects in addition to relief projects.
Development and relief efforts:
Managing Director Saeed Muthker Al Hajri indicated in his speech on the annual report that the year 2022 witnessed many achievements made by the institution, the most important of which is the opening of Sharifa Hospital in the Kingdom of Morocco and its operation.
He said that it is expected that this medical edifice will provide its services to more than 160,000 beneficiaries annually in various specialities.
Al Hajri said that Hamad Bin Jassim Center for Integrated Rehabilitation Care in the Gaza Strip, through the Early Childhood Department, also celebrated the graduation of the first batch of children with disabilities and their enrolment in Saja School affiliated to the centre.
He said that the Foundation also supported, within the framework of an innovative and sustainable initiative, the marriage of 250 young men from the Gaza Strip.
In the relief sector, Al Hajri said, Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Foundation moved immediately during the past year to support the international and governmental efforts of Pakistan to support people suffering from the devastating floods in Pakistan that led to the displacement of millions from their homes and the loss of their livelihoods.
He said that the Foundation distributed tents and food baskets to thousands of people affected by this disaster.
Building partnerships:
Al Hajri added that Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation believes in the importance of cooperation and building partnerships with many civil society organisations at the local level, especially those concerned with health and education affairs.
He said that the Foundation is keen to provide various forms of support to these associations foremost of which are the Qatar Cancer Society, the Qatar Diabetes Association, Aman Center, the Qatar Society for the Rehabilitation of People with Special Needs, and others and tries to unite efforts with the aim of actively participating in achieving Qatar National Vision 2030.
