30-day suspension of tariffs on Mexico, Canada announced by US

(MENAFN) The US has suspended the enforcement of tariffs for one month in both countries Canada and Mexico after a contact that took place on Monday with Leader Donald Trump, as per the leaders of each country.

Justin Trudeau, the Canadian Prime Minister, declared in a post on one of the social media platforms that Canada is implementing our USD1.3 billion border plan -- reinforcing the border with new choppers, technology and personnel, enhanced coordination with our American partners, and increased resources to stop the flow of fentanyl.”

Trudeau further stated that "nearly 10,000 frontline personnel are and will be working on protecting the border." The actions will cause one-month postponement on the tariffs with the aim of finalizing a deal, he mentioned.

The actions reflect comparable commitments Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum offered previously in the following day of Trump’s speech.

US tariffs implemented on Mexico have been "paused for a month," Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum stated in a post on social media platform, X, on Monday soon following talking to US President Donald Trump. Just after, Trump verified the news through his own social media post.
