Qatar Cancer Society Presents Third Edition of 'Awafi' Programme to Promote Healthy Lifestyle

(MENAFN) Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) is presenting the third edition of its 'Awafi' programme, which is aired daily on Al Rayyan TV throughout the holy month of Ramadan from 3.50 pm to 4 pm. The programme aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and offers viewers a variety of healthy cooking shows. It calculates the number of calories, the body's needs for each food element, and the benefits of the essential ingredients that make up the main dishes.

Mona Ashkanani, Director General of Qatar Cancer Society, emphasized that the production of the Awafi programme for the third year came as an affirmation of the society's role in spreading awareness of the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle to prevent diseases. The programme focuses on healthy food and exercise and aims to positively change viewers' perception of healthy food, introduce healthy eating habits, and emphasize the importance of healthy shopping and choosing useful nutrients.

QCS's continuation of presenting Awafi for the third year came after its success in its first and second seasons with Al Rayyan TV, which prompted the repetition of the experience with the help of Chef Ahmed bin Yaqoub. He is one of the young faces that offer new experiences in healthy cooking that satisfy all tastes, especially the youth, and encourage them to taste healthy food as an alternative to fast food.

The General Manager of QCS stressed that raising awareness of cancer and ways to prevent it by adopting a healthy lifestyle is among the charity's objectives, which is a fundamental pillar in its mission to prevent cancer and control its burden in Qatar. The society works with partners to educate the community, support, empower, and advocate for individuals living with cancer, and engage in professional development and scientific research in the field of cancer.

In summary, the Awafi programme is an excellent initiative by Qatar Cancer Society to promote a healthy lifestyle, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. Through the programme, viewers can learn about healthy cooking and eating habits, which can help prevent diseases like cancer. The society's commitment to raising awareness of cancer and its prevention through healthy living is commendable, and its efforts to engage in research and support individuals living with cancer are vital in the fight against this disease.
