Kuwaiti Charities Give Out 1,275 Food Parcels To Idps In Yemen


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ADEN, April 2 (KUNA) -- As part of "Kuwait by Your Side' campaign, Kuwaiti government and non-government aid agencies distributed 1,275 food parcels to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Yemeni governorates since the start of the holy month of Ramadan.
The aid campaign, continuing for the eighth year running, saw Kuwait's Zakat House contributing 875 parcels in Ma'rib, Hadhramaut and Taiz governorates, said Abdul-Wasi'e Al-Wase'i, Secretary-General of the Humanitarian Access - a Yemeni non-profit agency.
The Kuwait-based International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO) contributed 400 food parcels to IDPs in Ma'rib, and Mukalla - the provincial capital of Hadhramaut, he told KUNA on Sunday.
Al-Wase'i expressed gratitude to the government and people of Kuwait for their generous contributions to the humanitarian and development projects across Yemen. (end)
