Pak-Afghan-IFJ, MICT Joint Meeting Held In Islamabad


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): A joint meeting of Pak-Afghan International Forum of Journalists (Pak-Afghan-IFJ) and Media in Cooperation and Transition (MICT) has been held at the National Press Club in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, according to a statement on Wednesday.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Jamal Qutwal on Tuesday in which more than 50 journalists from both countries participated, the statement said.

After opening the session with recitation, President of Pak-Afghan International Journalists Forum Qamar Yusufzai welcomed the guests and participants in his address and detailed the special aims and objectives of the forum including the common welfare of journalists of the two brotherly countries.

The General Secretary of the Forum (France), Zia Bhumia, spoke on the importance of the Pak-Afghan International Forum of Journalists and nominated Afghan board members for the forum.

In his address to the meeting, Amjad Qamar, the key official of MICT, presented a detailed review of the activities of his organization and the selection stages in international journalism, while the coordinator of the forum, journalist and author Lynne O'Donnell, speaking online from London, expressed her views on the common interests of the journalists of the two countries.

Renowned international journalist and analyst Haroon Al Rasheed also addressed the meeting and praised the tireless work of Qamar Yousafzai, Saleem Bukhari, Hashmat Wajdani, Shah Rukh Khan and other officials in establishing the forum.

At the end of the meeting, a question and answer session was held for the journalists of both countries, in which the officials of Pak-Afghan International Journalists Forum and Media in Cooperation and Transition gave detailed answers.
