Apple set to launch new app for streaming classical music with world's largest catalog

(MENAFN) Apple has announced that it will launch a standalone app designed specifically for streaming classical music. The app, called Apple Music Classical, is set to be released later in March and will give users access to over five million classical music tracks, making it the largest classical music catalog in the world. According to Apple, the app will also feature thousands of exclusive albums, which will be accessible only through the app.

Existing Apple Music subscribers will be able to access the new classical app for free. The move appears to be the result of Apple's acquisition of the classical music streaming service Primephonic in 2021. Apple Music and Beats' Vice President, Oliver Schusser, said at the time that the acquisition would enable the company to offer a dedicated classical experience that would be the best in the world.

With the new app, Apple is seeking to cater to the growing number of classical music fans who have been underserved by mainstream music streaming services. By providing a dedicated app, Apple aims to provide a tailored and immersive experience for classical music listeners.

Apple's new classical app is expected to launch on March 28. The app is part of the company's broader push into the music streaming market, which has been dominated by rivals like Spotify and Amazon Music. With its vast catalog of classical music tracks and exclusive albums, Apple Music Classical aims to carve out a unique niche in the competitive music streaming industry.
