Iran introduces brand-new long-range cruise missile

(MENAFN) According to a senior military official, Iran currently possesses a cruise missile with a 1,650 km (1,025 miles) range. Iran revealed that it had created a ballistic missile that was capable of hypersonic flight late last year.

The commander of the Revolutionary Guards' aerospace division, Amirali Hajizadeh, announced on Friday on Iranian official television, “our cruise missile with a range of 1,650 km has been added to the missile arsenal of the Islamic Republic of Iran.” Also, the presentation featured what appeared to be footage of the brand-new Paveh missile.

Sabrina Singh, the deputy press secretary for the United States Defense Department, voiced doubt about Iran's ability to create a hypersonic missile in November of last year.

Back then, Hajizadeh claimed that the missile could fly both within and outside of Earth's atmosphere, pierce enemy anti-missile systems, and carry out other missions. Just a few number of countries, including the United States, China, and Russia, now possess the requisite technology to create such sophisticated rockets.
