Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental to open three new restaurants this year
(MENAFN) Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, a landmark hotel in Abu Dhabi, has officially relaunched under the Mandarin Oriental portfolio, marking the completion of a rebranding process that began in January 2020. As part of the extensive renovations, the hotel has revamped its common areas, as well as its rooms and suites, which now include vegan offerings.
The hotel is set to expand its dining offerings with the addition of three new restaurants this year. According to the general manager Michael Koth, one of the new restaurants will replace BBQ Al Qasr. The existing restaurant will be reinvented over the summer months, and the new concept, which is set to be called Sand + Koal, is yet to be announced.
Koth has also revealed that two more restaurants will be added, with details such as cuisines and opening dates currently being worked on. Koth has promised that the new concepts will "embrace everyone," with a focus on being "multi-generational" and offering "comfort dining" experiences. The restaurants are set to be opened by the end of the year.
In addition to the new dining options, the hotel is also looking to add more activities for families and Emiratis. The focus on family and local culture is part of a broader trend in the hospitality industry, with hotels looking to cater to the changing needs of travellers in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental is known for its opulent decor, luxurious amenities, and stunning views of the Arabian Gulf. The hotel is situated on a private beach and boasts an extensive list of facilities, including a spa, fitness centre, and conference and meeting rooms.
The relaunch of Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental is part of a wider effort by the Mandarin Oriental group to expand its presence in the Middle East. The group has recently opened a new hotel in Doha and is set to launch properties in Muscat, Oman, and Tel Aviv, Israel, in the coming years.
