(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Russian troops are attempting to push through the defense of Ukrainian forces in the Lyman and Bakhmut directions but suffering huge losses. The relevant statement was made by the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on facebook , an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi came to the units holding defense in the hottest areas, spoke with their commanders, examined the operational situation and peculiarities of enemy actions in certain directions, and provided recommendations intended to improve the operational situation and inflict as much losses on the enemy as possible.
“On the approaches to Bakhmut, out military are demonstrating great endurance and professional competence, restricting enemy actions and inflicting huge personnel losses on Russian occupiers. Thanks to the skilful actions of our defenders, Russian invaders cannot break through the defenses of the Bakhmut fortress. Ukrainian defenders are showing absolute dedication and courage to protect Ukrainian citizens,” the report states.
As part of the visit, Syrskyi presented awards to the Ukrainian military for their courage, bravery and intelligence during fierce battles with the Russian aggressor on the eastern front.
