Court Arrests Deputy Head Of Migration Department For Role In Brothel Ring


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The court arrested for two months the deputy head of the Migration Department at the National Police, who is suspected of organizing and covering up prostitution establishments across Kyiv.

That's according to the Kyiv City Prosecutor's office , Ukrinform reports.

At the motion of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, the Pechersk District Court ruled to remand in custody for two months without bail the deputy head of the Department of Migration Police of the National Police, who is believed to have been covering up the operations of a criminal group of prostitution handlers.

The perpetrator was charged under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Art. 255 (creation, management of a criminal group or criminal organization); Art. 302 (creating or maintaining debauchery sites); Art. 303 (handling prostitution or engaging a person in prostitution).

The prosecutor's office recalled that the law enforcement officer was detained this week as part of a large-scale sweep to expose a criminal organization whose members set up a network of brothels in Kyiv and engaged women in prostitution.

More than 30 searches were conducted, including at the National Police office premises. Fifteen suspected ring members were detained.

Three persons arrested can be bailed out for UAH 80,000 each.

As reported by Ukrinform, law enforcers exposed the leadership of the Migration Department at the National Police on supervising a prostitution ring in Kyiv.
