Riyadh – Asdaf News:

Saudi Arabia will once more host the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. This weekend, Diriyah, will host two back-to-back Formula E World Championship races.

The 21-turn, 2.49 kilometer Diriyah track, which skirts the ancient walls of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will be illuminated with the most recent in low-power LED technology. Through a sequence of quick turns and a lengthy straight, the 22 drivers will be put to the test in terms of energy management and strategy.

ABB Saudi Arabia, with its main headquarters in Riyadh, has a number of production facilities, service facilities, and sales offices. The business has been active in the Kingdom for more than 70 years, contributing significantly to significant infrastructural and industrial initiatives.

ABB is partnering with Pure Harvest Smart Farms, a Middle Eastern start-up that is a pioneer in sustainable smart farms, to offer the hardware and digital infrastructure for its control of energy resources. The IoT-enabled climate of Pure Harvest is improved with the aid of ABB AbilityTM Energy Manager, ensuring the greenhouses run constantly and profitably. It keeps track of the entire range of energy use and electrical distribution on the farm, offering real-time information and spotting chances for optimization.

Al Masane Al Kobra Mining Co (AMAK), the leading private mining firm in Saudi Arabia, has chosen ABB to supply sophisticated electrification and process control systems at its Moyeath copper-zinc mine in order to digitally change its operations. The solutions provided by ABB will ensure that there is a maximum amount of energy availability and reliability for the mine's sustainable operations while also assisting in reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions.

The Saudi Green Initiative 2030, which seeks to have 30% of all vehicles in Riyadh run on electricity, includes EV adoption as a crucial component. In order to create Saudi Arabia's first statewide charging network, ABB E-mobility provided Saudi e-mobility solution supplier, Electromin, with EV chargers to be installed at 100 gas stations throughout the country.

Water scarcity is another major issue in Saudi Arabia; more than 60% of the country's drinking water is produced through desalination. The Yanbu project, a seawater desalination project in Saudi Arabia that will provide fresh water to the city of Medina and its surroundings and affect the livelihoods of more than 1.5 million people, has been developed and constructed by ABB.

By promoting societal advancement, ABB also contributes to sustainability in Saudi Arabia. Recent initiatives to train 40 Saudi women with disabilities like blindness, deafness, and mobility impairments were sponsored by ABB Saudi Arabia. The women receive training to provide them the necessary life and career skills, as well as the self-assurance they need to succeed in the local job market.

ABB will sponsor the FIA Girls on Track event taking place at the track, which will provide girls between the ages of 12 and 18 the chance to learn about the various facets of the motorsports industry through a series of activities and workshops. This support is a reflection of ABB's dedication. For the second consecutive year, the business is hosting a workshop on ABB robotics, which will include YuMi, one of the company's most cutting-edge collaborative robots. This season, ABB is also introducing an additional workshop from its Electrification business to highlight the company's charging technologies in conjunction with its new position as the Official Charging Partner for the Championship.
