AMMAN - As part of its efforts to support underprivileged households and bring access to education in remote communities, the Masar Al Khair initiative has presented a shepherd family living in a tent in a remote area in Karak with a customised caravan in an urban neighbourhood.

Abu Nayef and his seven children make their living from shepherding in Karak's Al Qatraneh area.

Four of the seven children were out of school due to the long distance. With
Masar Al Khair's support, the three children now have access to schools, according to a statement from the initiative.

Founder of the Masar Al Khair Initiative Mohammad Qaralleh said that education is the primary focus of its interventions. Khawla Mazaydeh, principal of Al Rawda School in Al Qatraneh, said that the three children, aged between nine and 11, will be enrolled in school starting from the second academic semester within the non-formal education programme.

This programme has been established by the Ministry of Education in 2021 to support children within remote communities to address education loss, the statement said.
