Saudi Aramco offers contract to improve USD690M seawater desalination project


(MENAFN) Saudi Aramco has offered a contract to Lamar Holding to improve a seawater desalination plant that is estimated to worth SR2.6 billion (nearly USD693 million).

The seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant involves a water delivery network, as well as is a part of the Jafurah gas improvement plan.

The venture has a design volume of 80,000 cubic meters per day, and contains power and utility services, as shown by a MEED report.

It also involves a widespread water delivery network component, identified to spread 200 km.

By 2023, the project is estimated to have a power volume of 270-320 megawatts.

On top of Lamar Holding, the domestic utility developer Mowah Co. is also funding in the seawater desalination plant.

SEPCO Electric Power Construction Corp., a Chinese firm, is going to be the assigned engineering, procurement as well as building contractor for the venture.
