World Bank Approves USD 610 Mln Loan Package For Ukraine Relief, Recovery

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON, Dec 20 (KUNA) -- The World Bank on Tuesday announced a loan to Ukraine, worth USD 610 million, which includes projects targeting essential services and healthcare.
The country is facing 'devastating economic and humanitarian consequences, impacting the health sector, critical energy infrastructure, and transport networks,' World Bank President David Malpass said in a statement.
'The World Bank has mobilized USD 18 billion in emergency financing in support of the people of Ukraine since the beginning of the war, including commitments and pledges from donors, of which USD 15 billion has been disbursed,' he added. (end)
