Saudi Crown Prince Congratulates Qatar For Success In Hosting FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022

Riyadh: The Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia HH Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud congratulated the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on the State of Qatar's success in hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

This came during the speech given by the Saudi Crown Prince at the 43rd session of the Supreme Council summit of Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), held at King Abdul Aziz International Conference Center.

His Highness said that the council agreed in its 36th session in 2015, the Council approved the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques regarding the promotion of joint Gulf action. The vision contributed to strengthening the strategic role of the Cooperation Council regionally and globally, and accelerating the pace of the Councils march in the economic, social, security, military and political fields, including the appointment of military leaders for unified military leadership, and activating the role of the GCC police.

On the Palestinian issue, the Saudi Crown Prince reiterated the necessity of finding a permanent and just resolution to the Palestinian issue, in line with international legitimacy and the Arab Initiative for Peace, guaranteeing the Palestinian people their right of an independent state on the borders of 1967 with East Al Quds as its capital. He also stressed the Kingdom's support to efforts aiming for a comprehensive political resolution to the crisis in Yemen.

The Crown Prince also said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia believes that hydrocarbon energy sources will remain an important resource to meet the needs of the world for the coming decades, but maintained that Saudi Arabia is also committed to sustainability and has adopted a number of initiatives in that regard, the most prominent of which were the Saudi and Middle-East Green initiatives.
