Iraq FM asserts Baghdad wants to witness progresses in Iran-U.S., Iran-Saudi discussions

(MENAFN) Fuad Hussein, the Foreign Minister of Iraq, declared on Saturday that his country needed to see additional improvements in global discussions around Iran's nuclear plan and Saudi Arabia's relations with Tehran.

"The dispute between Iran and the U.S. reflects on Iraqi land, in Iraqi politics, and in Iraqi culture. It is in our interest to help if we can or to encourage both parties to continue the negotiations in Vienna," Hussein informed the Manama Dialogue meeting in Bahrain.

As an outcome of its long-lasting relationship with both nations and its robust ties with them, the Iraqi foreign minister announced Baghdad could talk with Iranian and American representatives with ease.

“As we are going to enter a perilous position, we are concerned about the tensions between Iran and the U.S.,” he also mentioned.

Hussein asserted that the additional Iraqi government is going to carry on to push for discussion in regards to Baghdad carrying on its parts as a mediator to facilitate conflicts among Iran as well as Saudi Arabia.

“There are still some unresolved concerns, but both Saudi Arabia and Iran want to continue the conversation,” he noted.
