Iran surges gas output seeking additional shipment markets


(MENAFN) Iran has been ramping up its natural gas output with the target of surging shipment to worldwide markets as the request in Europe for natural gas is increasing ahead of winter, as stated by a news agency report.

“Iran last week made it clear that it is ramping up its gas production operations at the supergiant South Pars natural gas field, with a focus on its controversial Phase 11,” the report also mentioned.

“The activities of the South Pars phase 11 development project are underway, and this winter gas from phase 11 will be available,” Chief of Iran’s National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Mohsen Khojasteh-Mehr noted.

Last week, a senior representative with Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), which is in charge of improving Iran’s large South Pars gas sector, as stated that his firm was preparing to drill 35 additional wells to expand and sustain gas output in the giant mutual sector.
