Unrest is to destabilize Iran, not to strengthen democracy
(MENAFN) Based on a recently released audio of a BBC Persian journalist, the major goal of media support for the current turmoil in Iran was to destroy the country, not to expand democracy.
According to Ra'na Rahimpour, reporters from the London-based Iran International Channel, which is backed by Saudi Arabia, have been instructed to only interview leaders of separatist organizations.
Rahimpour verified the audio's authenticity on her Instagram feed. In late August, the killing of a young lady in police custody in Tehran sparked outrage throughout Iran. Since the beginning of the protests, the foreign-based media has attempted to portray Iranian streets as places of espionage and disorder.
Earlier, the Ministry of Intelligence and IRGC Intelligence issued a joint statement in which they revealed additional facts concerning US meddling in recent Iranian protests.
The role of the enemies' intelligence services, particularly that of the United States, in creating dissatisfaction in Iranian society through the activities of their media, followed by the operational phase of the plot in appropriate time by trained agents of them both inside and outside the country, is elaborated in a joint statement issued on October 28 by the country's intelligence bodies.
