Tajikistan opens rail transit road through Iran


(MENAFN) The initial freight train of Tajikistan going toward Turkey started its trip via Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan as well as Iran, in a ceremony on Wednesday, Deputy Transport Minister Shahriyar Afandizadeh declared.

As said by Afandizadeh, head representatives from the stated nations joined the inauguration ceremony hosted in Dushanbe, as reported by Mehr News Agency.

The ceremony was also joined by transport firms, entrepreneurs, as well as transport representatives.

Due to the invitation of the Minister of Transport of Tajikistan to join the starting ceremony of the multimodal transport corridor in line with Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, as well as Turkey's territories, representatives from these nations took a trip to Dushanbe on October 17.

The Iranian delegation also took a trip to the town of Kulob, which is a free area of Tajikistan as well as is supposed to be the hub of trade, transit as well as industry of Tajikistan.
