NEW YORK — Tech-focused media company CNET has hired MikeWorldWide for PR support as part of its push to gain traction with young consumers.
As agency of record, MWW will focus heavily on media relations and thought leadership with the overarching goal of making CNET the go-to source for tech information among teens through millennials.
Efforts will include boosting CNET's editorial expertise and content, which includes news, reviews, and tips on a range of areas including technology, money, culture, gaming, home and cars. The Red Ventures-owned company, which dates to 1994, publishes a robust website and produces the likes of videos and podcasts.
CNET's engagement of MWW as its AOR furthers the partnership between the two companies, which started earlier this year when the agency managed CNET's rebrand. There was no incumbent AOR; Nor was there a competitive review.
MWW has also expanded its work with nonprofits with the addition of Crisis Text Line to its client roster. The service provides free, around-the-clock text-based mental health support and crisis intervention.
