(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Sept 22 (KUNA) -- The Constitutional Court decided that Sunday, September 25, will be the date for announcing the ruling on lawsuits referred to it by the Court of Appeal regarding the constitutionality of Clause 2 of Article 2, added to Act 27 (2016) on the National Assembly elections.
During its session on Thursday, the Constitutional Court debated the legal amendment providing that anybody who was indicted for offending Allah the Almighty, the prophets or the Amir, should be deprived of the right to vote.
The challenge against the article was referred to the Constitutional Court by the Court of Administrative Appeal. (end)
