Iran: Bushehr province records 64 percent rise in Petchem shipment


(MENAFN) The worth of petrochemical shipments from Bushehr district, in the southwest of Iran, surged 64 percent in the opening five months of the present Iranian calendar year (March 21-August 22), in comparison with the same span of time in the last year, a provincial official declared.

Ali Soleymani, the director-general of the region’s customs department, stated that six million tons of petrochemicals has been shipped from the region in the stated five-month, recording a 12 percent surge in terms of mass as well.

In the meantime, as earlier declared by Mehdi Safavi, the director-general of the districts Industry, Mining and Trade Department, the worth of shipment from the ports of Bushehr jumped 67 percent in the opening five months of the current year, in comparison with the same time span in the last year.

The official stated that more than 12 million tons of outputs valued at more than USD6.3 billion were shipped from the ports of Bushehr districts in the stated five-month time span, signifying 10 percent increase in terms of mass as well.
