Russia only requires Europe’s green light to launch Nord Stream II pipeline
(MENAFN) Russian leader Vladimir Putin stated on Wednesday that Moscow is prepared “to switch on” the Nord Stream II pipeline “tomorrow” to supply gas to Europe if the EU gives a green light.
Giving a speech at the Eastern Financial Forum in Vladivostok, Putin stated that it only takes one button to activate Nord Stream into put into operation.
He also noted that the creation of the pipeline was not 'for nothing,' because Russia learnt technologies as well as obtained new skills.
The leader stated that the same thing is accurate around the Nord Stream I pipeline, it can be activated and put into operation very fast.
Russian energy firm Gazprom is in the wait for the gas driving turbine to continue shipping, he continued.
“Give us the turbine -- tomorrow we will turn on Nord Stream,” he stated.
The Russian leader disproved charges of 'energy blackmail,' stating that Ukraine shut one line of the gas pipeline, shipping fuel to Europe 'under a far-fetched excuse.'
