Turkey’s daily energy usage declines by 11 percent on Aug. 9


(MENAFN) Based on the official data released by the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday, daily energy usage in Turkey declined by 11.7 percent on Tuesday in comparison to the prior day, standing at 1.05 million megawatts per hours.

According to TEIAS figures, hourly power usage reached 50,571 megawatts per hours at 03.00 p.m. regional time (1200 GMT). At 07.00 a.m. regional time (0400 GMT) the nation’s electricity consumption decreased to the lowest point of 34,861 megawatts per hours.

On Tuesday, 1.04 million megawatts per hours of electricity were produced, which is a 20 percent drop from Monday.

Natural gas power factories comprised by 29.8 percent of the entire amount of energy produced, whereas imported coal power factories and hydroelectricity factories constituted by 18.2 percent and 14.3 percent, correspondingly.

The nation's electrical exports on Tuesday were 8,447 megawatts per hours, while its imports were 19,991 megawatts per hours.
