(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The enemy continues to terrorize front-line territories in Ukraine, with about 50 shelling instances recorded on Sunday, in which 16 people were killed.
That's according to Ukraine's First Deputy Interior Minister Yevhenii Yenin, Ukrinform reports, citing the press service of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry.
'Some 46 shelling instances were recorded today, in which 16 people were killed, and we still have dozens of those wounded. The Russians are primarily targeting the Donetsk and Mykolaiv regions. But rockets also fly to the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia regions, and a number of other regions across the country,' he said.
According to Yenin, the Donetsk region came under shelling more than 3,000 times, Luhansk region - 4,000 times, and Mykolaiv region - 700 times. At the same time, he specified that the Chernivtsi region remains the only region not hit by Russian missiles so far.
In total, 12,000 shelling instances have been recorded since the all-out invasion, in which about 300 military targets and more than 20,000 civilian objects were hit.
Yenin also noted the involvement of saboteurs who adjust the enemy's fire in the shelling.
'Employees of the criminal police constantly take measures to counter subversive intelligence and terrorist groups. Typically, 10,000 to 15,000 suspicious individuals are checked every week. During the checks, we find dozens of persons, and we hand over most of them to the SBU authorities for further clarification of the circumstances,' he said.
According to Yenin, during the 164 days of the full-scale war in Ukraine, about a hundred subversive groups were exposed and more than 1,600 people allegedly involved in subversive activities were detained.
'Treason to the state for 300 dollars is almost like thirty pieces of silver. However, the activities of the police and SBU in countering these manifestations are quite effective,' he added.
