Ukraine May Start New-Harvest Wheat Exports Via Unblocked Ports In Aug Vysotskyi
(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The first vessels loaded with the new-harvest Ukrainian wheat may depart from the unblocked sea ports as soon as this August.
The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food First Deputy Minister Taras Vysotskyi during a nationwide telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“At the beginning of the war, most wheat volumes were already exported, and there were corn stocks left. We see that the harvesting of wheat is finishing now. From September, wheat volumes may become more massive, and the first batches can be [exported] as soon as this August,” Vysotskyi told.
In his words, corn exports were launched first in order to make space in terminals for the new harvest.
A reminder that, on July 22, 2022, Ukraine, Turkey and the United Nations signed the Initiative for the Safe Transportation of Grain and Food Products from Ukraine's Odesa Port, Chornomorsk Port and Pivdennyi Port. As part of that initiative, four vessels loaded with Ukrainian-produced corn (Razoni, Navi Star, Rojen and Polarnet) had already departed.
