Russian rap artist purchases all Russian assets of Starbucks
(MENAFN) In collaboration with businessman Anton Pinsky, the Russian rapper and entrepreneur Timati (Timur Yunusov) has acquired all of Starbucks' Russian holdings. Timati made the announcement on his Instagram account on Saturday.
The rap artist penned, “it is now official: all assets of the SB (Starbucks) chain have been acquired and are under my and Anton Pinsky’s reverent management.”
He called on his subscribers to join a campaign to give the chain of coffee shops a new name and logo despite the fact that the new owners do not have any significant rebranding plans. In September, a decision is going to be made. On the other hand, Anton Pinsky, a co-owner, posted on Instagram, “there are heated debates on the name and logo.”
According to reports that surfaced earlier the current month, Senator Arsen Kanokov, the owner of a sizable commercial real estate holding, Timati, a successful businessman who owns the fast food chain Black Star Burger, and well-known Russian restaurateur Pinsky were finalizing a deal to purchase Starbucks' operations in Russia.
