LONDON — Strategic communications and change management consultancy Williams Nicolson has appointed Mary Walsh as a strategic advisor.

Walsh was formerly the communications director on the executive committee of cross-Channel rail service, Eurostar, for 11 years, where she led external and internal communications and supported the recapitalisation of the business during the pandemic and ran the firm's environmental and community programme.

Before that, she was director of corporate relations at Lloyds Banking Group, leading communications around a series of M&As and regulatory reviews and a campaign with the UK government on flexible working practices.

In her new role, Walsh (pictured, centre) will work alongside Williams Nicolson's chairman, Nick Bowers, who previously held leadership roles at Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank, and special advisors Phil McManus, Paul Kelly and Paul Newman.

Williams Nicolson partner Louise Nicolson (pictured, left), who co-founded the firm last year with Steffan Williams (right) said:“Mary's extensive experience in leading communications in complex, regulated businesses is invaluable. An early adopter of ESG, and a passionate advocate for equality and equity, she will be a phenomenal asset to our team.”

Walsh added said:“I am delighted to join Williams Nicolson at this important stage in their development and look forward to helping the team maximise the growth opportunities and propel the business forward.”
