Demand for real estate in Qatar increases significantly

(MENAFN) As Qatar gets closer to hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2022, the nation’s real estate market is expanding significantly and seeing tremendous demand.

“The escalation of event for the World Cup has already started, and the peak will be during the tournament (November to December). The last wave of the event will see a de-escalation which will take three days to three months, and is expected in the first quarter of 2023.” According to Ion Dinu, Head of Real Estate Services at MD Properties, as the sector expands, it is apparent that the cost of residential properties is rising as a result of the aforementioned occurrence.

“The evidence indicates that there has been an increase in rental prices in Qatar for the first time since 2015. It is likely that this rise, however, will be short-lived as mega-events like the World Cup result in an increase in demand, which then results in a rise in prices.” Elyes Selmene, the managing director of The Seven Real Estate, expressed a similar opinion to The Peninsula.
