Train Derailment Kills 10 People, Injures 50 In Iran


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TEHRAN, June 8 (KUNA) -- A train derailment resulted in the death of 10 people, while injuring other 50 close to Tabas area, southern Iran, on Wednesday.
The accident took place at 5:30 a.m. Iran's local time, and ended in the death of 10 people, while injuring other 50, some of them in critical health conditions, the official local TV quoted spokesman of Iran's Emergency Directorate Mujraba Khalidi as saying.
The train was heading to Tazd city, southern Iran, coming from Mashhad, northeaster Iran, carrying 384 passengers, and later hit an excavator that was located at the accident location, he affirmed. (end)
