CCQ Receives Lusail Female Campus Annexe From Ashghal

Doha: The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) received yesterday the annexe to the Lusail Female Campus in Rawdat Al Hamama area from the Public Works Authority (Ashghal). 

The presentation was done in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Al Naemi, CCQ President, and a delegation from Ashghal headed by Eng. Abdulmohsin Al Rashid, Manager of Buildings Projects Department. 

The establishment of the new annexe comes within the framework of the college's keenness to continue to make headway on its nationwide expansion strategy in response to the increasing demand for its academic offerings and the significant increase in the number of students enrolling at the CCQ. 

The attendees toured the facilities of the new annexe, which extends over an area of 27,000sqm and consists of four floors, with two information technology laboratories, a conference room, multi-purpose meeting rooms, and a range of facilities and halls that support the learning environment.

On this occasion, H E Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Naimi, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, praised CCQ's efforts to support the academic needs throughout Qatar, and its pioneering role in providing the local labour market with qualified national professionals. 

Dr. Al Naimi said:“The education sector in Qatar is witnessing a remarkable boom in terms of the development of educational institutions, the services they provide and the building areas, thus enabling receive larger numbers of students and increase the opportunities available to members of the community to complete their higher education.” 

He added:“CCQ is one of the essential higher education institutions in Qatar, offering a wide range of unique and diverse educational paths that contribute to the professional development of thousands of highly qualified professionals and enable individuals to realise their ambitions, further the progress of the Qatari community and support the national priorities.”

Dr. Al Naemi praised the unwavering support of the Ministry, saying:“The Ministry of Education and Higher Education is a key strategic partner of the college in its pursuit of academic excellence since its establishment in 2010; until we became one of the nation's leading higher education institutions contributing to the development of qualified national cadres and the reinforcement of the competitive capacities of public institutions, with a variety of specialised academic and training programmes to meet the increasing and evolving needs of the Qatari labour market.”

Dr. Al Naemi also extended his thanks to Ashghal for its efforts and fruitful cooperation with the college. 

Eng. Al Rashid said that the design of the new annexe reflects the characteristics of the local culture and ensures the provision of educational, environmental, and recreational benefits to students, in addition to its conformity with the highest standards of safety and to the local and international quality standards.
