Hanandeh takes part in Jordanian-Iraqi ICT Forum

AMMAN — Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmed Hanandeh headed a delegation that included representatives of number of ICT, to take part in the Jordanian-Iraqi ICT Forum.

The visit came in response to an invitation made by Iraqi Minister of Communications Arkan Al Shaibani, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Monday.

During the forum, the delegation was briefed on Baghdad's achievements in the ICT domain, a ministry statement said, adding that the two ministers toured the companies' pavilions in the exhibition.

Shaibani highlighted measures to ease Jordanian companies' access to the Iraqi market through signing memos and agreements. 

On the sidelines of the visit, several meetings were held with Iraqi Minister of Trade Alaa Al Jubouri, Iraqi Interior Minister Othman Al Ghanimi, and Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq Mustafa Mukheef, Petra added.

Other stops in the minister's tour included the Iraqi Private Banks League, with talks covering the two countries achievements in digital transformation.

The minister also visited Iraqi Communications and Media Commission to discuss means of enhancing partnerships and exchange between the two countries' post offices.
