Turkey: 18 terrorists neutralized when YPG/PKK rocket assault in Syria


(MENAFN) According to Turkish defense minister, Turkey neutralized 18 terrorists when a YPG/PKK terror assault murdered five residents in northern Syria.

Hulusi Akar announced in his conference with groups in the southeastern Sirnak province close to frontier with Syria and Iraq “Our operations continue and we expect the number (of terrorists neutralized) to increase in the coming hours.”

Akar added the rocket assault by the YPG/PKK terrorists in the Afrin city center wounded 34 citizens.

Convoyed with senior armed officials, Akar gathered with leaders on and beyond the frontier through video meeting.

On the words of the defense leader “The attacks came from the Tel Rifat region. We have agreements with the countries that are our interlocutors on this issue. They have a commitment to remove the terrorists there. We expect these countries to fulfill their commitments as soon as possible.”
