Turkey’s FM states that Lebanon will come out stronger after economic crisis

(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Turkey’s foreign minister stated in a guest column for a Lebanese daily that Lebanon is going to come out more powerful from crisis, as it had during the past.

Reaching out to Lebanese citizens through Al Joumhouria (The Republic), Mevlut Cavusoglu quoted a famous line by 13th-century mystical poet Jalaluddin Rumi: "There is hope after despair and many suns after darkness."

Lebanon has been dealing with harsh local challenges involving a currency reduction against the dollar, as well as lacks of petroleum and medicines since late 2019.

A new Lebanese government ran by Najib Mikati was created in September, ending a power vacuum that lasted for over a year. Former prime minister Hassan Diab had quit in the aftermath of the port explosion.
