38 Houthi rebels killed in confrontation with Yemeni army in Marib
(MENAFN) A government military source stated that on Thursday, Oct. 21 an overall of 38 Houthi militants were killed in fighting with the Yemeni army in the nation’s central province of Marib.
The source at the frontline said to Xinhua on condition of remaining anonymous: "the army forces killed 38 Houthi rebels in Al-Kasarah frontline in northwestern Marib and destroyed nine of their weapon-mounted vehicles in this morning."
"Ten soldiers were wounded in the battle that lasted seven hours," he further said.
The Iran-supported Houthi militia conducted in February a key offensive on Marib in a bid to assume control of the oil-rich province, the last northern stronghold of the Saudi-supported Yemeni government.
