KABUL: Second Deputy Prime Minister of the Taliban interim cabinet, Abdul Salaam Hanafi warned Tajikistan to stop interfering in Afghanistan's affairs.
He made the remarks in reaction to the Tajikistani President Emomali Rahmon's speeches at the UN General Assembly.
Rahmon earlier at the UN General Assembly expressed concerns over the formation of the Taliban government saying that a government in Afghanistan, in which the interests of all Afghan factions were not secured, might generate problems.
“Tajiks community comprises more than 46 percent of Afghanistan's population and they reserve the right to be part of the government in Afghanistan,” he added.
This comes as according to the international figures, the Tajik population in Afghanistan is determined less than 27 percent.
Tajikistani President termed the formation of an inclusive government as the main solution for the country's economic and political problems.
However, in an interview with the Al-Jazeera Deputy Prime Minister, Hanafi said that Kabul wants cordial ties with Dushanbe and added:“We will not allow any neighboring nation to interfere in the internal matters of Afghanistan,” he added.
