11 IS suspected members detained in Istanbul


(MENAFN) Based on Turkish media reports, Turkish police on Wednesday arrested 11 suspected affiliates of the Islamic State (IS) in comprehensive operations in Turkey's largest city Istanbul.


The state-run Anadolu agency said that the Istanbul Police Department's Counter-Terrorism Unit teams simultaneously attacked 19 sites in 10 districts to arrest the defendants.


It further included that those targeted in operations have reportedly conducted activities in support of the IS in war regions.

The nationalities of those arrested were not immediately available.

According to the agency, many organizational and digital documents have been seized during the raids.
