Germany's developed output decreases 10.8 pct in 2020
(MENAFN) On Monday, Feb. 22, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) proclaimed that Germany's developed output last year, ruling out energy and building, declined by 10.8 percent annually following price and calendar changes.
Destatis noted that in the first phase of coronavirus constraints during April and May in 2020, developed output declined even more noticeably -- by about 25 percent. By the last month of the year, output generally revived and dropped only 1.5 percent annually.
According to Destatis, in the vehicle sector, Germany's most significant manufacturing domain, the drop in output was "particularly sharp" in 2020. Firms of motor cars and vehicle parts manufactured 25 percent less last year than in 2019.
Destatis noted that accordingly, the turnover of the country's developed firms in the output of motor cars and vehicle parts last year was 17.8 percent lower than 2019 level.
